Syrah refers to a savoury, structured and cool-climate style, and this exactly describes the TarraWarra Estate Syrah from 2024! The structure has a higher acidity, and this was also encouraged by thoughtful ferment handling. The nose for this Syrah is of red currants and black pepper spice. An initial perfume and a balance of savoury influence. Then when you take your first sip, its silky and seamless with bright red berry flavours and then some more savoury flavours of olive tapenade and dark bramble notes. We want to serve this wine with a dry aged, char-grilled rib-eye, a simple wedge of lemon and garden salad.
