This block is a heritage site on TarraWarra Estate and it has one of the oldest plantings in the Yarra Valley. It is a shady site with sandy loam soils, which develops subtle fruit flavour and good acidity in the grapes.
2019 started off quite hot, however our early concerns regarding heat and humidity were allayed by cooler conditions through mid January and February. This slowed down ripening and allowed excellent flavour development. A heat wave in late February kicked everything along, with all the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay harvested within 10 days.
