The 2015 vintage was excellent, with a mild to warm summer. Good winter rain helped the vines retain balance and health through to harvest. Harvest was quite early due to the warmer start to spring and the fruit quality was superb.

The combination of nougat, white peach and cashew creates a sublime bouquet. The palate is long, silky and seamless, with perfectly balanced firmness. For all that, this wine is comparatively understated, needing time, but it certainly makes a statement. July 2017
Bright, medium to light yellow colour with a fresh, bright bouquet of lemon, honey and fragrant blossoms. A delightful nose, with brilliant primary fruit the main act. Great intensity and clarity on the palate. Superb purity and precision. A lovely wine. Indeed, a great wine.
Named MDB after TarraWarra’s owner and his son – Marc and Daniel Besen. A wine only released in exceptional vintages – Yarra Valley 2015 was certainly one of those. All indications suggest another recent vintage will follow-up, but that’s a story for another day. This 2015 is only the third release of this wine. Struck match, flinty, fig, caramelised peach. Fleshy stone fruit is king. Pillows of soft fruit ride effortlessly across the tongue. Almost weightless. Add a subtle nutty caress, fruit and acid balance is sublime. Age is no barrier here but it will shine further more with time in bottle. March 2017
