TarraWarra Estate Wines

In exceptional years, certain barrels
stand out as complete wines in themselves which are worthy of bottling
under the MDB label–named after the father and son Marc and Daniel Besen. Both the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines are available in small amounts,
representing less than three barriques of Chardonnay (500 bottles) &
two puncheons of Pinot Noir (1,100 bottles).
With twenty years of history and heritage, TarraWarra Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay represent the vision of Marc and Eva Besen to produce premium wine crafted to bring out the particular aspects of each vintage while consistently concentrating on balancing structure and elegance. These wines are of great character and depth, reflecting the outstanding quality of the 100% estate grown fruit.
With a greater focus on the site and its unique properties, Winemaker Clare Halloran and Vineyard Manager, Stuart Sissins have made some important developments in the vineyard to cultivate grape varieties which suit the soils, sun exposure and microclimate of particular blocks. The 2008 K-Block Merlot made a strong statement The anticipated release of the 2009 J-Block Shiraz in July of this year will re-inforce the value of the work and effort made to create wines which truly express the site. Our other single vineyard wines include Pinot Noir Rose (A-Block) and MRV - Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier.

The focus of the Estate range is on vibrant fruit and pure varietal character - these wines over-deliver in quality reflecting the serious TarraWarra edge combined with the exciting packaging and value of the Estate brand. The Estate range includes a sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, rose, pinot noir, merlot and shiraz.
