Vintage and Winemaking

In 2008 the post veraison ripening period was relatively cool, followed by a 4 day heat spike in mid February.  The fruit was picked in early March, with the fruit in excellent health and free of any disease. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this wine were sourced from a cooler elevated vineyard in the Yarra Valley.  The vines were cropped at 7 tonnes per hectare.

The wine underwent a long, cool tank ferment, with a small portion going into second use French oak barriques.  The wine remained on lees post fermentation to add depth to the middle palate.
