2012 Pinot Noir Rose

This wine is grown, picked and made to be elegant in style, with lifted strawberry Pinot Noir aromas. It is a dry, yet succulent wine with fresh acidity and fine texture.  A lovely aperitif enjoyed on its own or with lighter foods such as antipasto, pâté or fresh summer seafood.

Site selection: This block is a heritage site on TarraWarra Estate and it has one of the oldest plantings in the Yarra Valley. It is a shady site with sandy loam soils, which develops subtle fruit flavour and good acidity in the grapes.

Vintage notes: The 2012 season was ideal in the Yarra Valley.  The Pinot Noir for this wine is picked early to retain natural acidity and elegant flavour, seasonal conditions ensured fruit in perfect health with optimum balance.

MAX ALLEN Gourmet Traveller, March 2014
Not all pink wines need to be drunk as soon as possible after vintage, when they're fresh and bouncy. Some - such as this pale, dry, savoury style made from pinot - benefit from a year or so in the bottle, rounding out and mellowing nicely.

LESTER JESBERG Winewise, January 2014
I love this wine. After wading through an ocean of sweet, dull rosé what a pleasure it is to taste this dry, beautifully balanced example. It’s varietal and, most importantly, refreshing. That’s what rosé should be about. We enjoyed the rest of the bottle with salmon tartare. Highly Recommended.

HUON HOOKE Sydney Morning Herald, January 2014
This delicious rose has a pale smoked-salmon pink colour and a delicate, properly dry palate in the Provencal style. In the mouth, it's light and easy to quaff, without great intensity, but has attractive pinot-noir flavours and a clean, moreish finish. It's a good food style. Drink now. 90/100.
