2016 Estate Pinot Noir

Made with the same approach as the Reserve wine, this wine is produced from a different selection of fruit parcels and barrel combinations.

The 2016 wines are distinctive for their full avour from the warmer season, and this is no exception. It displays lifted raspberry aromas, with a hint of earthiness and subtle oak. The avours combine full fruit with ne long tannins, nishing with the elegance and nesse that is the hallmark of TarraWarra Pinot Noir.

Vine Age & Features: The fruit was picked from various blocks with vines aged between 21 and 33 years old, grown on high north facing slopes to maximize sunshine hours. Northerly winds from Long Gully provide good air ow and favourable micro-climates across the Estate.

Vintage Notes: 2016 vintage was warmer in January, however milder conditions and cooler nights persisted through February to harvest. Fruit was hand-picked in excellent condition, with high colour intensity and avour expression.

Thankfully our Aussie pinot noirs are gradually displaying a step-up in flavour dimension from the so-so 'lolly water' efforts of the past when the variety struggled for recognition. This Yarra Valley effort is all about full flavour, elegance and smoothness.
