2015 Pinot Noir Rosé

This wine is grown, picked and made to be elegant in style, with lifted strawberry Pinot Noir aromas. It is a dry, yet succulent wine with fresh acidity and fine texture.  A lovely aperitif enjoyed on its own or with lighter foods such as antipasto, pâté or fresh summer seafood.

Site selection: This block is a heritage site on TarraWarra Estate and it has one of the oldest plantings in the Yarra Valley. It is a shady site with sandy loam soils, which develops subtle fruit flavour and good acidity in the grapes.

Vintage notes: 2015 vintage started off warm in December, followed by a mild January. The fruit for this wine is picked early to retain natural acidity and elegant flavour, seasonal conditions ensured fruit in perfect health with optimum balance.

Reviews:

JAMES HALLIDAY Wine Companion 2017
From a single estate block grown exclusively for rose (30yo MV6), pressed to 14 days in stainless steel and 3 months in used French puncheons. The palest possible pink, with no skin contact, is followed by a bone dry palate, with a mix of spicy, savoury notes, the red fruits fluttering off stage, but there nonetheless. 90/100

REGAN DREW QT Weekend Mag, 19 Dec 2016
A peachy blush in colour. Delicately scented with light strawberry and white cherry perfume. A quick swirl lifts up some rose petal and pink grapefruit.  Broader in flavour than the colour suggests, yet still refined. Good amount of body and grip from tannins. Finishes bone dry. Classy, precision winemaking. Perfectly matched with smoked salmon blinis. ✚ Rating: 9/10
