Hi there, we're Kitty & Avril. You may have bumped in to us at the Cellar Door once or twice before - but this summer we're doing something different! We're here to take you on a bit of a journey through vintage at

TarraWarra Estate.

So come and join in on the fun - view behind the scenes footage of the winery, listen to interviews with our winemaker Clare and vineyard staff, and hopefully learn a couple of things along the way. Enjoy!

Day 1

Everyone's excited and there's a real buzz in the air as the first row of Watt's Point starts to be picked. It's all chardonnay grapes used to make our Tin Cows Chardonnay. These grapes will take a while to become the wine we love to drink - but it's definitely worth the hard work and wait!

Day 2

We headed out on foot today to check out how the bird nets are removed. The vineyard crew had aches and pains putting the netting up - but taking it off looks a cinch!

Day 3

Freedom!! Zac, one of the vineyard dogs, finally had his 'flower pot' removed from his neck following a rather one-sided incident with a piece of stray wire. That should teach him for being an adventurous little puppy. There's no holding him back now.

Day 4

We threw off our white shirts and aprons and jumped into some jeans and blundstones to see what life really was like for a winemaker. Mixing yeasts, plunging pinot noir, clearing and filling barrels and doing pH tests - it was a long day!

We both really benefited from our day with Clare, Bruce and the winemaking team. It gave us a better understanding of what they do and how they do it.

AVRIL learnt how to make up yeasts and add them to juice.

KITTY remembered how to drive a forklift without breaking anything.

Day 5

Oooh, it's a chilly damp morning today. Getting to work early when it's cold is no fun for anyone - but it's especially not when you have to work outdoors.

However we had an objective, back out into the vineyard to pester Stu on why the pickers were all dressed-up in white.
